VENTNOR SET FOR BUMPER CROWD AS LASHINGS ALL STARS RETURN TO STEEPHILL

LEGENDARY HENRY BLOFELD TO BE GUEST COMMENTATOR

Ventnor Cricket Club, reeling from the death of their much loved Chairman and former captain, are preparing for the visit of the world famous Lashings All Stars to Steephill on Sunday 14 August for the first time since 2009.

Lashings have named a squad of fine international players from across the globe and closer to home including West Indies Test match players Tino Best, Sherwin Campbell and Kirk Edwards, India’s Wasim Jaffer and England’s Monty Panesar.

The great former West Indies batsman Gordon Greenidge will make a welcome return to Steephill in his role as Lashings Coach.

The T20 match starts at 3.30pm in front of what Ventnor hope will be a capacity crowd with Henry Blofeld, a legend of BBC’s Test Match Special Team, as guest commentator.

Tickets can be bought in advance from Hose Rhodes & Dickson, High Street, Ventnor. In addition, the Clubhouse will also be selling tickets on Saturday afternoon.
